Painting on stone – Flower meadow

Download PDF here

Welcome to my little introduction to the marvellous hobby of painting on rocks.

Once you get started, you’ll only stop once the ink has run out and you have no more stones. You’ve been warned!

In this step-by-step guide, I will show you how to paint and draw a nice flower meadow using Posca. A sweet and simple idea for flower arrangements, potted plants and terrariums / aquariums.

Material:

Posca markers in 3 colours. In this tutorial we’ve used light greenwhite and black

1. Paint a round stone in light green. It makes a nice effect if you draw the circle following the shape of the stone.

2. Let the stone rest for approx. 15 minutes or until the Posca colour is completely dry.

3. Draw small white flowers inside the green circle (meadow). Here we drew flowers with 5 leaves but it’s completely optional.

4. Repeat until the meadow is covered or you are happy with the number of flowers.

5. Contour. Pick up the black marker and line the outline of the flowers. You decide how much detail the flower should have. I have chosen to do the outlines, buds and leaves. But you can also do less.
