These yarn qualities typically don’t itch 

If you want to buy yarn that doesn’t itch, there are a number of yarn types that you need to pay special attention to. As a starting point, look for these types as you might experience that they don’t itch: 

• Bamboo Yarn
• Milk Yarn
• Silk Yarn
• Viscous yarn
• Acrylic Yarn

As a rule, the above yarn qualities don’t itch. If you are looking for itch-free yarn, you can choose one of these materials which we have had really good experiences with. 

But we must point out that whether a particular yarn type feels itchy is highly personal. Although we categorise the above yarn qualities as "itch-free" yarn, there are no rules without exceptions. Some people have more sensitive skin than others so naturally, it will differ from person to person.  

Although bamboo yarn, milk yarn, silk yarn, viscose yarn and acrylic yarn are not known to cause itching, we can of course not guarantee that the yarn will not itch. If you look at two yarn types made of the same material, you should note that there can be a big difference in different yarn qualities - in terms of whether it itches or not.

Wool yarn that doesn’t itch

It is no secret that there are many wool yarns that itch, but this doesn’t necessarily apply to all types. There is plenty of possibilities to buy itch-free wool yarn. We have good experience with the following materials:
