Procedure

1) Put your plate or another circular object on the wrong side of your fabric and draw all around.

2) Cut out the shape.

3) Thread your needle. If you are using the embroidery thread from your Christmas calendar, simply split the thread so you are sewing with two strands. Tie a knot at the end.

4)  About (it does not have to precise down to the millimetre) half a centimetre into the fabric, sew with straight stitches all the way around the edge.

5) When you have sewn around the edge, pull your thread a little so the fabric curls up.

6) Before pulling all the way in, stuff some craft filling into the fabric.

7) Tighten the thread completely. You now have a Christmas ball.

8) Fasten the thread by sewing a little back and forth at the top of your Christmas ball.

9)If you have enough thread left, you can also sew your way to the middle of the ball, cut the string, tie a knot at the end and you'll have a string to hang your Christmas ball from.

10)  If you don't have enough string, simply sew a new thread onto the top of your ball.
