Christmas Pattern For Sewn Gift Bag

A gift bag is the perfect way to wrap delicious home baked goods or this year's Christmas gifts. A nice gift bag can add the finishing creative touch to your wrapping, and it's always great when things are homemade. In this guide, we'll show you how to sew your own gift bag using Christmas fabric, thread and a sewing machine.

Materials

• 2 pieces of Christmas fabric
• 2 pieces of ribbon measuring 60 cm
• Measuring tape
• Sewing thread
• Scissors
• Sewing machine

Procedure

1) Start by ironing the Christmas fabric to remove any wrinkles.

2) Fold and iron the top edge of both pieces of fabric. First 1 cm and then 4 cm down the back, as illustrated in image 1.

3) Place the fabrics right sides together. Sew all around the edges as illustrated in image 2.

4)  Place the bag right side out.

5) Sew with decorative stitching 1 cm and 3 cm from the edge at the top, as illustrated in image 3.

6) Cut two pieces of ribbon measuring 60 cm.

7) Using a safety pin, insert the first one ribbon through the casing from one side of the bag and then the other ribbon from the other side of the bag, as illustrated in images 4 and 5.

8) Tie a knot at both ends of the string so that you don't risk it getting lost in the casing. Violá, you have now made your own beautiful gift bag!
