Expand your knitting options by learning to knit in the round

You can avoid having to work with several parts and pieces once you learn how to knit in the round. You will not have to sew and assemble different knit pieces when you master the technique for the round designs.

Everyone can learn it, and it is a good technique to learn if you dream of knitting a lovely jumper that you can wear immediately after knitting the last stitch.

Learn about the right knitting measurements

The knitting needles are essential for being able to knit in the round. Instead of using the classic needles that are straight and made in a firm and hard design, you use a circular knitting needle that has a flexible ‘cable’ in the middle and 2 pointed ends.

You cast on the stitches as you usually would on the circular knitting needle.

A crucial and important prerequisite for successful round knitting is that all stitches on your circular needle are turned in the same direction. There must be no stitches that twist around on the knitting needle.

When you knit using a circular needle, there will be no right side or wrong side on your work.

Knit according to the English or the continental method

Whether you knit with the yarn in your right hand (referred to as the 'English method') or whether you have the yarn in your left hand (the continental method') is up to you.

The most important thing is that you have control over your yarn skein and your stitches.

It may be a good idea to use a stitch marker or add a piece of leftover yarn between the first and last stitch, so you can keep track of where each row ends and begins.
