Materials and Yarn
Yarn
Infinity Hearts Crocus. Consists of 100 % Polyester Yarn length 100g = approx. 60m.
Yarn consumption
2 skeins (4 skeins)
Knitting tension:10 stitches per 10cm.
Knitting needles: 40cm circular needles, 7 mm.
Or the needle you need to achieve the right knitting tension.
You will also need a longer cable if you increase the number of stitches. And possibly an extra cable where the stitches on the front piece can "rest" while you finish knitting the back (you knit each part separately).
Abbreviations
s = stitch(es)
K = Knit
P = Purl
n = needles
SM = Stitch marker
RS = Right side
WS = Wrong side
Increase: YO between 2 s and knit stitch through back loop.
Instructions
Cast on 40 (40) s on 7, 40cm knitting needle. Place SM to mark the beginning of the round.
Knit rib circular * K1, P1 *, Repeat for the entire round. Continue with rib, until you have a total of 20 (30) rounds rib.
Knit 1 round.
Increase Round 1:
* K4, M1 * - Repeat for the entire round = 50 s
Knit 2 rounds.
Increase Round 2:
* K5, M1 * - Repeat for the entire round = 60 s
Knit 2 rounds.
Increase round 3:
(change to longer cables if needed):
* K6, M1 * - Repeat for the entire round = 70 s
Knit 2 rounds.
If you are knitting the 'Short version', proceed to "Divide work into 2" now.

Increase Round 4 (long version):
* K7, M1 * - Repeat round = 80 s
Knit 2 rounds.
Divide work into 2 (both versions):
(= 35/35 (40/40) s)
From now on, you knit back and forth in ridges.
The back (let the front ‘rest’ on the cable or an extra cable, while you knit the back):
Needle 1 (RS): Slip first s purl-wise, K1, P1.
= 3 edge stitches. Proceed until 3 s remain, P1, K2. Turn.
Needle 2 (WS): Loosely cast off the first s purl-wise, P1, continue with K until 2 s remain, P1, K1. Turn.
Repeat N1 and N2 until you have a total of
24 (60) altogether.
Loosely cast off from RS.
Front:
Needle 1 (RS):
Cast off the first 2 (4) s, continue in K1, P1 = 3 edge stitches. Continue until you have 5 (7) s left, P1, K4 (6). Turn.
Needle 2 (WS):
Cast off the first 2 (4) s, purl, K until you have 2 s left, P1, K1. Turn.
Needle 3 (RS): Loosely cast off s purl-wise, K1, P1 = 3 edge stitches. Continue with K until 3 s remain med, P1, K2. Turn.
Needle 4 (WS): Slip first s purl-wise, P1, continue with K until 2 s remain, P1, K1, Turn.
Repeat N3 and N4, until you have
A total of 20 (50) stitches.
Cast off.
Weave in ends.
Wash and block if desired.
