Free Crochet Pattern: Christmas Tree with Lights

This Advent pattern guides you on how to create a quick little Christmas decoration that lights up so beautifully. Here you get the pattern for 2 different Christmas tree sizes, which you place down over an LED light/candle to make it light up. The pattern is easy to follow and is perfect for beginners.

Measurements

Small: approx. 8cm

Large: approx. 11cm

Materials

• Crochet hook size 3.50mm
• Darning needle for finishing
• 2 LED lights/candles

Yarn consumption

• 1 skein of Infinity Hearts Rose 8/4 Yarn Unicolour 156 Green

Abbreviations

s = stitch

rnd = round

mr = magic ring

htr = half treble

inc = increase

( ) = Number of stitches in the row

* - * = States what to repeat x number of times

Instructions

Small Christmas Tree

Rnd 1: 4 htr in mr (4)

Rnd 2: htr in each s (4)

Rnd 3: htr in each s (8)

Rnd 4: 1 htr in each s (8)

Rnd 5: *1 htr, inc* x4 (12)

Rnd 6: 1 htr in each s (12)

Rnd 7: *2 htr, inc* x4 (16)

Rnd 8: 1 htr in each s (16)

Rnd 9: *3 htr, inc* x4 (20)

Rnd 10: 1 htr in each s (20)

Rnd 11: *4 htr, inc* x4 (24)

Rnd 12. -15.  1 htr in each s (24)

Bind off and weave in ends.

Place your Christmas Tree over a LED light and watch how beautifully it lights up.

If your Christmas tree is too big for your LED light, just leave out the last increase and instead repeat round 10 3 more times, so you have 4 rounds with 1 htr in each s with 20 stitches in total.

Large Christmas Tree

Rnd 1: 4 htr in mr (4)

Rnd 5-6: 1 htr in each s (8)
